A Poem by Maya

Science at the Farm
A poem by Maya Blanchfield

At a science class we made play-doh,
Outside a cold wind did blow.
We pet a horse and learned about eggs,
We saw how chickens grow their legs.

We played a memory game,
And found some cards that were the same.
We got to pet a silly goat,
He tried to eat my sweater coat.

A Crayola Kind of Day

Today, after school work was finished up, the kids had fun coloring. The giant drawing pads are last minute Christmas gifts I picked up for the kids at Wal-Mart. Turns out that the play value was worth so much more than the $10 I spent on them! Mark made a "big giant" ice cream cone: Maya decided to draw ice cream cones, too. Coloring is great fun, but maybe this weekend will be nice enough for us to get outside and play!

Science at the Farm!

The kids took a science class at Rutledge Wilson Farm-Park here in Springfield. It was a really great class! For those of you in the area, I urge you to check out the farm-park. You can see the farm animals and play on the playground, or look into one of the programs they offer. If you'd like more information, click here .

It was FREEZING COLD that morning, so we bundled up.
Isn't she cute?!!: That's Grace, she stays with us during the weekdays.

Now, on to class pictures:

Two Front Teeth

Or rather, the lack thereof... How adorable is she?!!
