Product Testing

I like getting fun stuff in the mail. I REALLY like getting FREE fun stuff! If you know where on the web to look, it doesn't have to take up all of your free time to make it happen. Ya'll know how much I like Spoofee. Just stick to the "free goods" section and you can find great stuff. Remember the Olay Definity I blogged about a few month ago? That was definitely worth logging on for that day!

I also like to join product testing panels. A lot of companies will send you products to use just for your feedback, usually in the form of a survey.

I am a member of the She Speaks panel, and they sent me one of these lovely little Nic's Stick nail polish pens to try out. All they want in return is a short survey answered and maybe a post or two to their site letting them know what you did or did not like. I am currently expecting a package from She Speaks containing Ore Ida Steam-N-Mash potatoes.
If you want to look around the She Speaks website, click Here .

A few days ago I got an unexpected package from Fed Ex. Packages are always fun, but when you aren't expecting them it is even better! I eagerly tore into the package, hoping for makeup, and found a box of chicken broth neatly wrapped in bubble wrap! Who Fed Exes broth?!! Progresso, that's who! Plus, they threw in ten coupons to share with friends.

The broth is from the general Mills product testing panel called Pssst... and if you want to check it out click Here .

I think the most fun product testing site has got to be HouseParty! This site is based on the concept that a recommendation from a friend is the best advertisement. They equip you with the goods to share with a dozen or so people and ask that you host a party and give out the stuff. I have hosted a Hershey's Bliss party, and am preparing to host an Alli party. They types of HouseParty products cover a huge range, but the parties are getting harder and harder to get into, due to increasing popularity. If you want to check that out you can do so Here .If you know of a great freebie site or product testing panel, please share in the comment section!

We Love Grammy and Pop!

These are my parents, known to the world as Bob & Jan, known to me as Mom & Dad, known to my kids as Grammy and Pop. They took us out to lunch at Cheddars on Monday.
This is my nephew Matt with Markie. "Psst, Matt, can I borrow your glasses?" Awww... "Psst, Matt...got any sunglasses?" Too cool.
Here's the dessert..."Hey, Grammy, want some Cookie Monster?"We love our Grammy and Pop!

Farm Fun

We visited Rutledge-Wilson Farm Park yesterday. There were several animals for the kids to watch and pet. Of course, Maya was immediately drawn to the horses! There is a fishing pond, but we didn't fish. The kids even got to try their hand at milking a (fake) cow: There were arts and crafts available:Hay to play in: A stage coach to play on: and other fun farm stuff: The playground is great:

What We Do On a Rainy Day

It looks like Gustav(or is that Gustoff?) is here...that's the storm, ya know? Well, it's here and it's watering the lawn for me. Like, totally watering everything... all day.
Which is good. But what do you do with the kids on a day like today? Well...if you're a home school mom like me you invent new work for the kids to do.And you hit the library for movies. And you let them play in the hot tub.And then you hit the weights and the treadmill.Or not.

But, I did clean out my magazines. And look, the kids ate the rainbow today! Yep, that is a successful day if you ask me.
