A Good Place to Eat

We went to Carlos O'Kelly's for a meal this past weekend. It was our first time to eat there. We were pretty happy with the experience. The prices seemed to average $10 per adult and the kid's meals were $5 each. Our kids both ordered cheese pizza. Not a very adventurous choice for a Mexican restaurant, but they thought it was tasty, nonetheless!
Since this was my first time there, I ordered a sampler platter. It included three items, featuring three different types of meat: shredded chicken, ground beef and shredded beef... with three different sauces: red enchilada sauce, white enchilada sauce, and cheese sauce. It was all very good, but the winner was the shredded beef and the white sauce.

Mark ordered the biggest, spiciest thing on the menu. He thought it was only moderately spicy, but it was certainly big! You can't really tell in the pictures, but his plate was bigger than mine, and that burrito barely fit on it! I don't remember what it was called. The food was good, the setting was pleasant, but the service wasn't that great. One of the best things about this place is that it is about 45 seconds from our house, so I do believe we will be back!

I've never eaten at Carlos O'Kelley's...looks yummy, though. Was the food authentic tasting? Tomorrow is "date night", maybe we'll try something new! Our favorite mexican restaurant in Springfield is Los Portales on Sunshine. Me and Billy can eat for under $25 including drink and tip, so the prices sound about the same.
